A serious game or applied game is a game designed for a primary purpose other than pure entertainment. The "serious" adjective is generally prepended to refer to video games used by industries like defense, education, scientific exploration, health care, emergency management, city planning, engineering, and politics[1].
What is a good serious game? We can organize and analysis in the following 6 steps.
The first four phases focus on the game design activity, from the learning objectives definition, the learner-centered need analysis, and the definition of the game modalities, mechanics and rules. The final two phases focus on the play activity evaluation from the perspective of the learning outcomes, assessment and feedback, but also from the learners’ gaming and learning experience during the GBL activity[2].
