Without Algorithmic trust, blockchain is mirage.

In Gartner Hyper Cycle for emerging technologies (2020), top 5 trends are shown:

  • Composite architectures

  • Algorithmic trust

  • Beyond silicon

  • Formative artificial intelligence (AI)

  • Digital me

Here I want to talk about the algorithmic trust.

"Wearing the mask or no, it's a question." Like Hamlet, in epidemic, every day we have asked ourselves hundreds times a day similar questions. We trust no more completely what the authorities. Then who we should trust?

Like the weather report, the more information we get and the more scientific our analysis is, the less surprise we will get tomorrow. That's the algorithmic trust. In epidemic, the intelligent people follow the government rules which come from the analysis of database. Otherwise, if the leader of a country make his decision only by his sense, the country has more opportunity to get into trouble.

Algorithmic trust is a key point for blockchain. Blockchain is a great idea to save energy and cost in our development. However, it only works when all the information is reliable. Otherwise, the bigger the blockchain becomes, the deeper the problems will arrive. Without algorithmic trust, blockchain is just a mirage.

Gartner also cites the Hype Cycle of other emerging technologies:

But in my mind, algorithmic trust is the base of all the development and that's why I choose to talk it at first.
